Grand Park’s 2026 Fourth of July Drone Show Lights Up Downtown LA

Grizzly Entertainment returned to Gloria Molina Grand Park for its 2026 Summer Block Party with a custom 600-drone show above Downtown Los Angeles. This was our fourth year creating a drone show for the park’s annual Block Party.

Each year, Grand Park gives the event a theme that speaks to the city and the moment. For 2026, that theme was “Voice and Expression as Power.” The celebration brought together music, art, and stories from across Los Angeles, with the drone show carrying its message into the night sky.

That changing theme makes each year’s creative process especially interesting. We cannot simply repeat a successful sequence from an earlier show. The imagery and movement need to feel relevant to this year’s event while representing Grand Park, Los Angeles, and the people gathered there. The performance also reaches beyond those watching in person through streams, news coverage, and footage shared around the world.

Set to a soundtrack curated by Anthony Valadez, the 2026 show drew on Grand Park’s idea of individual voices coming together as one community. It gave people across the Block Party a shared moment to look up, while creating a visual story connected to the event around them.

Our collaboration began with a 2023 Fourth of July drone show honoring 50 years of hip-hop. Every return to Grand Park brings a new creative brief and another opportunity to tell a story that belongs to LA.
